Juice Feast Day 11 & 12 of (60?)

Good Day Mates!!!

Pretty good days Friday and Saturday. Friday, I worked all day and came home and had some of the rest of my juice prepared for the day. Relatively easy day for me. I feel really good, well nourished and energized. Saturday was another surprisingly easy day for me. I made all fruit smoothies as I was craving this Pineapple, apple and pear smoothie I made Friday. So I made two quarts of it. Nothing but pure sweetness. I also made a quart of orange juice, and a quart of grapefruit juice. I will get back into the greens today(Sunday). In fact, I will make today nothing but green drinks to make up for it. Maybe.

Yesterday, I noticed while running up and down the stairs at my house that my knees were no-longer hurting. No pain at all. When I started this fast I actually had to use the railing while walking up and down the stairs because of sharp pains in both knees with each step. NO MORE PAIN!!!

Last night, took a fundraiser bus ride to the casino. Everyone on the bus was drinking and eating and having fun. I sat alone in my seat with my red cooler and two quarts of juice. A guy asked me if I had "fried chicken" in the bag (I just laughed and said no). I even won a nice bag of mixed candies from a raffle drawing they had on the bus. I said to myself, what am I going to do with all this. Well it was easy. I looked around me and everyone was festively indulging. I just asked the talkative friendly lady in back of me if she wanted some. I will tell you it was like a group of piranhas on a piece of meat, I had no problem getting rid of that bag of candy as the nice church ladies garbled it up with no problem (they did politely ask me three times if I wanted some).

As soon as you get off the bus and walk upstairs there are nothing but restaurants and a really nice buffet (which I had a voucher for). I walked (okay sprinted) by all of them and went straight to the poker room and chained myself to the seat with everyone around me getting drunk until it was time to go. The alcohol smells were horrible. While sitting, I had two green teas with lemon during the five or so hours I was there. No major food drama at all. When I got back on the bus I had some juice waiting for me in my cooler bag and I was fine.

MINOR DRAMA: When I got home from what appeared to be restaurant row at the casino at 3:30 am, I walk in the house (I was all alone) and on the kitchen counter was a large pizza (probably my favorite food other than potato chips) box with square slices inside (yes I looked inside and even smelled it). Standing there all alone, no one watching, by myself, It went through my head what it would be like to garble down a slice or 10 but there was no emotional or physical connection to it. So the drive wasn't there the mind was all alone with it's fabricated drama. Without the body and emotions the mind I'm finding is weak. I'm committed with laser focus.

Today I'm gonna hit the gym and go to the movies. Movies typically mean popcorn extra butter and a large refillable High Fructose Corn Syrup I mean Soda. But today I am going to attempt to sneak a bottle of fresh green Juice to sip on into the theater. If that fails no problem I'll just leave it in the car for when I come out of the theater.

Juice Feast Day 10 of (60?)

Hello!!!

Just wanted to come by and update on what's going on Day 10. Everything is still going strong. I am feeling energized and happy. Able to handle my work load fairly well. No major stresses causing me to want to fall off. Everything is good. What's interesting is at weigh in I didn't lose any more weight this morning. I'm wondering if the Almond Milk has anything to do with it. Not concerned just curious. Nevertheless I feel really good. My body is losing inches that's for sure. But my strength is still good.

BP is down to 105/64. WEEEEEEEEEE!!!

Well just found out Almond Milk shouldn't be included in a juice fast here is what is written on Juice Feasting.com:
Q: Can I add in the occasional nut and/or seed mylk to drink with my juice? What about eating nuts and seeds?A: Great question. We encourage you to not do any nuts, seeds, or their milks for the duration of your Juice Feast. This includes chia seeds.

Nuts and seeds will completely arrest the cleansing/healing that you would get out of a Juice Feast. They will also tend to constipate you, are mucus forming, acid forming and are not part of the Juice Feast. By all means enjoy these in the context of a maintanence cuisine after your Feast!!

Well that's all nothing major occurred nothing life changing so I guess I'll see ya tomorrow.

Challenges for today:
AGAIN Drink more water!
stay on course (laser focus)
Remember just 1 day at a time
Drink at least a gallon of Juice

Juice Feast Day 9 of (60?)

Good morning! Preparing for day 9 of this JOURNEY!!! I can honestly say it has gotten quite easy. I have no cravings what so ever. The only thing that effects me is when I smell cooked foods with strong odors. There is a mind reaction but no corresponding body reaction. Which is awesome. I've learned that in order for an emotion to take effect the body and the mind have to agree. If my body is not cooperating with the mind with the emotional response to food then I'm in a good place.

It seems my sense of smell is heightened. Maybe I'm returning to my animal nature where my body is utilizing it's senses to search for food. Or maybe I've just cleared out some of the mucous in my body that dulled my smelling senses. Who knows. All I know is I smell everything. Somethings I really don't want to smell.

Yesterday was a big test day for me. I had 5 - 75 min massages to perform and 4 of them were really deep tissue sessions. When I'm eating regular food a day like yesterday is really taxing on my physically. So I was a little concerned as to how I'd perform. Needless to say, I felt great and very much up to the task. I did find though that if I didn't have something to drink right before and right after each session I would start to slur my speech a little. But overall I was fine. A little cramping in the hands when I went to the supermarket last night. But that's not totally out of the ordinary after a day like yesterday. So that was very reassuring to me.

Oh, another thing I just remembered at the end of the day I started to chew a piece of sugarless gum (knowing that it was probably not a good idea). That sent me into a tailspin. All of a sudden I had cravings within five minutes. I was able to stave them off with the last of my emergency fresh OJ. But it was really weird they were very intense cravings and they kicked in fast. I won't be doing that again.

Last night went to bed relatively early about 11:00pm slept very well. Finished off the day with about 24 ozs of OJ watched American Idol and then crashed.

Well that's the end of my story and I'm sticking to it.

Challenges for today:
AGAIN Drink more water!

Juice Feast Day 7 of (60?)

Well Hello!!!

Feeling good this morning!!! I had a good day yesterday with a few interesting successes I will share with you in a minute. I just wanted to say that at this point it's really easy. My body feels energized and satisfied as long as I keep the fresh juices running through it. I was able to perform 3-75 min and one 90 min massages yesterday. No major problems doing it and had plenty of Juice on hand.

Of all places I went to the hardware store to pick up some of their paint strainer bags to strain my almond milk and there I found a goldmine in the form of Mason Jars 12 of them for 12.00. I scooped them up right away. I can store my Juices in them and keep them in my Hot / Cold Bag with Ice Packs. Keeps them cold throughout the day. A refrigerator works too.

Yesterday's Success: Had a little argument with the wife yesterday. I was at fault ;-). History has proven 99% of the time that an incident such as this would derail me from my diet plan. However, not this time. I simply went and took a SWIG of almond milk and got mentally back on track. What was different this time? I didn't allow the emotion to consume me beyond what it was. I had a choice and I realized my choice to continue on my journey to wellness or not. And I chose to continue. For me that was MAJOR.

I may have mentioned this before but It's worth repeating. While the true benefit of this Juice Feast is healing the body, resetting the body, losing weight, regaining energy. There is a major side benefit that we often don't think about. The Mind. Getting the mind back in harmony with the Body. The body wants to do the right thing for its survival. But the the mind when out of tune with the body thinks otherwise. It goes after the simple pleasures, the quick fixes. The addictions created from childhood. This process can help to retrain the mind to be in accord with the body. But the difficulty and resistance of the mind is enormous as witnessed by the many times I/we have tried to make changes. It's a constant struggle and I don't know when the breaking/turning point arrives or if it will ever arrive. But until then we will keep on fighting one day at a time.

Well today I have a Thai Massage scheduled into my day. Which will be really good for me as I need it right now. Looking like a long day overall with 4 clients. Tomorrow will be interesting as I have 5 clients all 75 minutes and 3 of them really deep tissue. Tomorrow will be the real litmus test of my strength levels with this Juice Feast. See you tomorrow. Juicing one day at a time...

Juice Feast Day 6 of (60?)

Yesterday was Superbowl Sunday. Overall I felt great no really rough insurmountable occurrences. Spent the day primarily in the house. Went out to pick up my Juice from Robeks purchased about 90 oz. Dropped the wife off at Chipoltle while I went to get my juice. A little mental trauma there. I felt a little left out. But nothing overly traumatic. When she walked in the store with the bag I looked at it and my mind instantly went back to all the times we used to go to lunch in at Chipoltles in DC and stand in that long line that was out the door. I always purchased the bowls and would eat until I was stuffed. That was a favorite stop of ours.

With the exception of the Superbowl I watched very little TV. Kept myself immersed in reading and watching raw food/health food related videos. This is certainly mind over matter as I am truly not physically hungry. The Enema yesterday was successful in getting things moving a bit as I had another BM yesterday.

Went to Walgreens yesterday and purchased tongue scrapers. I have a thick film coating on my tongue which is normal from what I have read and heard. Then went to the supermarket. Went straight to the produce isle. Picked up a bunch of oranges about 38 and about 16 pears. I had a taste for some fresh OJ and man that was good and refreshing. Another weak moment was at the register. Four thick powdered fresh home made jelly donuts (or at least they looked home made) which sent my mind into a frenzy. I literally could taste the donuts in my mouth and imagined wiping the powder off my face. The moment was so real... I need mental help!!! LOL

Really excited about my Blood Pressure getting back into the normal range. 117/75. And my weight dropping another two lbs was a good thing also. Looking forward to a rather busy day at work today. Going to do four 75 min massages for the first time since I started the feast (3 on the previous days that I worked). A normal day consists of 5-6 massages. But I have intentionally kept things light while I adapt to this Juice Feast thing. Will be prepared with plenty of Juice. See you tomorrow!!!

Drink more water!
stay on course (laser focus)
Remember just 1 day at a time
Drink at least a gallon of Juice

Juice Feast Day 5 of (60?)

Good news!!!

I still feel great. No major temptations or urges to eat solid foods. Didn't watch much TV last night which I think is helping me. Performed three 75 min. relatively deep tissue massages yesterday. Working off of my 32 oz morning drink. Energy level during the massage was good. Got a little tired but overall felt pretty solid.

Went home and made about 64 oz of juice and 32 oz of fresh almond milk. After drinking 32 oz of the fruit/veggie drink, I drank maybe total 16ozs of the almond milk 8 oz at a time and it was very filling. Then I drank another 24 oz of the fruit and veggie drink.

This morning I didn't feel hungry at all. Didn't have the urge for a movement so I must cave in and do the dreaded Enema. I have a deep seeded fear of Enemas. My grandmother used to make me take them when I was a kid. The worse thing ever. So there is a certain resistance to this part of the plan but I know it must be done. I used one of the Fleet laxative enemas from Walgreens. Not sure if this is the recommended or best solution but it will suffice until I read more on this.

One Word: Brutal!!! But amazing the amount of solid stuff that's still coming out after 5 days. Okay enough of that...

It's SuperBowl Sunday. The wife is unfortunately sick so we have no plans on doing anything for the SuperBowl. This actually works in my favor. I can stay home in my little Cave and control all of life's temptations!!! See you tomorrow!!!

Yesterday's meals:
Juice from night before 32 ozs
Drink mix: juiced whole Head of Celery, 3 pack of romaine hearts, half pineapple, 3 green apples, 1 red apple, 1/4 lemon with peel, inch of ginger. then blended with a tray of ice in vitamix to make it cold made about 64 oz...
32oz of fresh Almond Milk.

Vitals:
Weight; 268 (Lost 7 lbs)
BP; did not take
Mood: Very Steady almost feel a little sedated
Energy; 1-10 (8-9)
Commitment level 1-10; (10+)
